Trusted design. Easy response. A great option for the beginner flautist

The Yamaha YFL-212 is Yamaha’s latest generation student flute, building on the success of the popular 211 model. Designed with the beginner in mind, the 212 combines playability, durability, and comfort, making it one of the most sought-after entry-level flutes on the market.

This model features a specially contoured beginner-friendly lip plate, encouraging correct embouchure development and breath control from day one. The Split E mechanism improves response and stability in the upper register, particularly when playing the often difficult high E.

Built with silver-plated body and keywork, the 212 includes closed holes, an Offset G, and thickened key posts to ensure long-term reliability and easy playability. Its carefully balanced key layout supports a natural hand position, helping students play with confidence and control.

Key Features:

  • Finish: Silver-plated throughout

  • Keywork: Closed holes, Offset G

  • Mechanism: Split E for easier high-note response

  • Design: Beginner-optimised lip plate for better tone development

  • Build Quality: Thickened key posts for enhanced durability

  • Case: Supplied with a sturdy plastic case, case cover, cleaning rod, internal gauze, and polishing cloth

  • Ideal For: Beginner flautists and returning players
