Vandoren B44 Bass Clarinet Mouthpiece
The B44 Bass Clarinet mouthpiece from Vandoren has the smallest tip opening of the bass clarinet mouthpieces they produce. Made with a thin tip rail, this makes for a free blowing mouthpiece. As it has quite a closed tip for a bass mouthpiece, it would be best to play with stronger reed strengths. Either a 3-4, would be perfect!
It is important that you choose the correct strength reeds to go with your mouthpiece, so that you can get the most from your instrument. As picking the wrong strength can affect the way that the air is able to travel through your mouthpiece. It is suggested that the smaller the tip opening, the stronger the reed needs to be. In comparison the wider the opening, the softer reeds will be the best match.
Vandoren’s B44 bass mouthpiece is responsive and could be the perfect tool to pair with your clarinet and get the perfect sound and articulations. As one of 6 models available for bass, there are plenty of models to try. Motivated to create a mouthpiece for every clarinettists needs, Vandoren shape their range with clarinettists for variety and success.
