Hohner Thunderbird Low Harmonica
Deep tone. Powerful projection. Built to shake the stage.
The Hohner Marine Band Thunderbird is the ultimate solution for players seeking a fat, low-end sound that holds its own against guitar, bass, and drums. Tuned one octave lower than standard diatonics, the Thunderbird delivers a deep, resonant tone with the signature power and projection of Hohner’s Marine Band series.
Designed in collaboration with master harmonica technician Joe Filisko, this model features an innovative tapered cover plate that eliminates reed rattle—even on the lowest notes—ensuring a smooth, clean response across the entire range. The triple-lacquered bamboo comb offers excellent moisture resistance, a natural feel, and enhanced tonal warmth.
As the lowest tuned diatonic harmonica in Hohner’s portfolio, the Thunderbird is perfect for blues, roots, rock, and any style demanding a rich, growling bottom end. Handcrafted in Germany, it brings superior craftsmanship and tone to every performance.
