The Chedeville Umbra is the follows the success of the popular 'Elite' model from Chedeville. The minds at Jody Jazz have put the uniquely formulated Chedeville Hard Rubber into a design to create a Darker sounding mouthpiece that provided less resistance. This is a unique marriage of characteristics as free blowing mouthpieces are often thin sounding and hard to control, where as the Umbra allows for freedom of expression and dynamics.

The 'pure' rod rubber is formed into a mouthpiece at the Jody Jazz factory using state of the art CNC machines and expert mouthpiece artisans for the indispensable hand work. This combination allows Chedeville to produce incredibly consistent mouthpieces that play properly but also speak to the musician.
