Vandoren M30 Lyre Profile 88 Bb Clarinet Mouthpiece

The Vandoren M30 Lyre Profile 88 is based on the design of the M30. This model however has a slightly smaller tip opening and also incorporates the streamlined profile 88 beak, whilst sharing the same facing length as the M30. These changes can make all the difference, so if you find the M30 a bit too wide for you and it feels a bit uncomfortable in your mouth, then this would be a great mouthpiece to try. With an exceptional quality of sound and a feeling of flexibility and roundness the M30 Lyre profile 88 is designed to be a mouthpiece that is capable of producing an edgy sound whilst giving you an alternative tip opening and extra added embouchure comfort.

With all the design concepts put into this mouthpiece, it is designed to work with you, and being free blowing. The M30 Lyre Profile 88 gives a good balance between timbre and roundness of sound. Allowing you the opportunity for you to focus on your tone without being distracted by note production issues or uncomfortable embouchure positioning.

Having a long facing and medium tip opening, the M30 Lyre Profile 88 is best paired with stronger reeds (see the Vandoren reed recommendations below). By picking the perfect reeds to use with this mouthpiece, you can completely transform your playing. From the sound you produce to articulation, all of these factors change how your chosen mouthpiece reacts with your clarinet.

The M30 Lyre Profile 88 is one of over 30 different models for Bb clarinet and a model that shows Vandoren’s innovation and drive to make a mouthpiece for any player.
