Vandoren B45 13 Series Profile 88 Bb Clarinet Mouthpiece

The Vandoren B45 13 Series Profile 88 Bb clarinet mouthpiece is a model that was developed specifically for playing at A=440Hz. With this lower pitch the mouthpiece is able to resonate in a different way than the standard range (442 Hz), creating different tonal colours. The concept, developed in 1994 for the American market and particularly to suit the Buffet R13 which was widely used in the US in this period. The mouthpiece will work with standard European tuning, so it is worth trying on your clarinet to see the difference in sound you can achieve with this lower pitched model.
Since it was first bought to market, the range has expanded and is often a popular choice for many players regardless of location. They can be used in conjunction with any clarinet…because of the wider bore to this mouthpiece, the mouthpiece also lowers the pitch of the instrument. This would therefore be a good choice is you find you often have to compensate for being sharp and want to avoid having to purchase a longer barrel. Because of this we would recommend that you try the 13 series mouthpieces with a tuner to check your intonation and check this version will work for you!
The B45 13 Series Profile 88 is something different to the standard model and can offer a whole range of tonal differences. From a manufacturer who have the largest variety of mouthpieces variations per model, you can find one to suit your needs.
