From Vandoren, the B45. Profile 88 Bb clarinet mouthpiece is characterised by a trapeze shape inside the mouthpiece and a profile 88 beak. These two specifications together widens the passage from the main bore to the chamber (.), whilst with the streamlined profile 88 beak gives an added comfort of not having to have an embouchure that feels very wide.

The alteration to the passage, allows the player to produce richer harmonics across the entire sound spectrum. With the same intermediate tip opening and facing length (119.5, medium-long facing), this model feels the same as the traditional B45, but performs in a completely different way.
