Silverstein Works Prelude Ligature - Bb Clarinet
The Prelude ligature from Silverstein Works, continues the heritage and character of the original Silverstein Ligatures in a more affordable option for musicians. As the entry model into the Silverstein range, the Prelude allows more musicians the opportunity to experience and enjoy Silverstein's idea to "free the reed".
Made using the original black cord, created using the same technology and manufacturing process as the cords used on the 'sky crane' that lowered the Mars Rover. This ligature has been engineered as a tool to enable the player to discover an entirely new sound.
With the Prelude, you are, just like the other ligatures in the range able to make a difference in your sound by how much you tighten the mechanism, due to converting the turning torque by the mechanism into pushing force. By tightening less, the sound gets darker as the reed is able to vibrate more. The unique design of this ligature can also compensate for thickness of reed, so, if a reed is too thin, tightening more makes the reed sound thicker and vice versa.
