Vandoren 5JB Profile 88 Bb Clarinet Mouthpiece

Vandoren 5JB Profile 88 clarinet mouthpiece is one of the popular choices for jazz clarinettists. The profile 88 beak offers a variation of the traditional model, contoured to have a less harsh angle that makes the mouthpiece comfortable to play. By changing the angle of the beak, the embouchure is altered allowing players who don’t like the feeling of wider mouthpieces to have the sound of a wider, more open mouthpiece available to them. There is plenty of room to play with dynamics whilst remaining in control with this piece. With a wide tip opening and a long facing this mouthpiece is a great buy for those who want a big sound. Having one of the widest tip openings in the Vandoren range, this mouthpiece works best with softer reed choices, allowing for the greatest air flow and least resistance; leaving you the flexibility to experiment with your sound.

Even with the profile 88 beak, this mouthpiece has the same bore as the traditional 5JB giving you the space to get a rich, full, loud sound with this version. Great for the doubler (especially if you play the saxophone) as the chamber allows for lots of air to travel through it, leaving you to get your ‘clarinet’ sound!
Vandoren have the largest selection of mouthpieces that you can choose from, meaning that you should have no trouble finding a mouthpiece that really suits your playing style, needs and wants.
