Vandoren M30 13 Series Profile 88 Bb Clarinet Mouthpiece

The Vandoren M30 13 Series Profile 88 Bb Clarinet mouthpiece has been designed to give great flexibility and a good balance between timbre and roundness of sound. It is a reliable, free blowing mouthpiece that plays with ease across the entire range of the clarinet.

Having a long facing and a medium tip opening, this M30 incorporates the 13 series altered tuning and the profile 88 beak for added comfort when playing. By tuning this model to 440Hz (known widely as American pitch), the way that the mouthpiece resonates is different to the standard models, allowing for dark centered tonal colours. Alongside the tonal differences this model channels the sounds of Chédeville mouthpieces.

In order to tune this mouthpiece, the blank is bored wider. It is necessary to find a mouthpiece that works well with the accuracy of your instruments pitch so that it works to its optimum. This modification lowers the pitch of the instrument, which means if you find that you play sharp and find yourself having to compensate for this, then you can avoid having to purchase another longer barrel.

It’s important to make the right choices with reeds to maximise the way a mouthpiece works with your instrument. With the dimensions of this mouthpiece as they are, Vandoren recommend a stronger reed, such as a 3-4. These choices result in a rich, velvety sound, with the flexibility of articulation and dynamic variation.

The M30 13 series profile 88 mouthpiece is a free blowing mouthpiece that is easy to control. With such an extensive range of models to suit so many different playing styles, Vandoren have managed to create a vast array of mouthpieces to suit your individual needs and expectations.
